Bhubaneswar: Members of Odisha Secondary School Teachers' Association (OSSTA) will again go on a strike from February 7 over a multi-point charter of demands, the outfit warned today.
According to an official source, pension to retiring teachers, government aid to non-aided schools, and salary to teachers of 625 (226 Group and 399 Group) high schools coming under GIA-2018 are some of the 21 demands that the outfit made so far.
Previously, OSSTA had held discussions with the State government in this regard three times. “Our demands were not met by the government and hence we will agitate,” some members said.
“Every time we were assured that our demands will be considered but to no avail,” OSSTA general secretary Ranjan Kumar Das alleged while speaking to mediapersons.
It is pertinent to mention here that OSSTA had previously put forth its 21-point charter of demands and submitted copies of it to Odisha Chief Minister, School and Mass Education (S&ME) Minister, and Chief Secretary on August 9, last year.
