Arrested former Odisha cricket official admitted to hospital

Bhubaneswar: Arrested former secretary of Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) Ashirbad Behera was admitted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar today after he complained of illness.

Behera was arrested by CBI on September 19 for his alleged links with the Artha Tatwa chit fund scam. Also, owner of Hotel Solan Inn in Bhubaneswar, Kamalakanta Das was arrested by the central investigating agency sleuths for the alleged complicity in the scam.

Worth mentioning, the CBI had filed additional chargesheet against the duo last month. After the special CBI court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant Behera was arrested from Cuttack. Few hours later, the sleuths nabbed the hotelier from Old Town area of Bhubaneswar.

After the Special CBI court rejected Behera’s bail plea, the former OCA secretary was sent to Jharpada jail. The court will hear his bail plea on October 1.
