Arrested Odisha MLA Pradeep Panigrahi under ED scanner; FIR copy sought

Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has begun investigation into financial transactions allegedly made by arrested Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi in Odisha.

The ED has sought an FIR copy from Odisha Crime Branch for the same, informed ED Joint Director Madhav Mishra today.

Yesterday, the legislator was arrested by the EoW of Crime Branch and was later sent to Jharpada jail after his bail plea was rejected by the SDJM Court, Bhubaneswar.

Sources said that the ED will probe the former minister’s bank transaction amounting to Rs 2.50 crore . In this regard, the investigating agency has sought details of his bank accounts and records of a land belonging to him in Soroda.

The ED will register two cases against Panigrahi and corrupt IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak, who has been arrested on DA charges recently.
