Bhubaneswar: The mother of Nalini Prusty, OPEPA (Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority) Chief Accounts Officer died after falling from an apartment in Jaydev Vihar here today.

However, mystery surrounding the death deepens as police recovered a hand-written note from the house of the deceased.

Though the exact reason behind her death is yet to be ascertained, police suspect the elderly woman might have committed suicide over family dispute. Meanwhile, the cops have sent the body to hospital for post-mortem and begun an investigation into the incident.

It may be mentioned here that OPEPA FA-cum-CAO Nalini Prusty and her husband Bijay Ketan Sahu, who was Chhatrapur Tehsildar, were arrested on August 31 by Vigilance on charges of acquisition and possession of of assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
