Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly thrashed his father to death as the latter asked him for some money at Sahu Colony in Sailashree Vihar area of Odisha capital, last evening.

As per police sources, deceased Bijaya Swain told his son Kuna to give him some money for buying vegetables. However, Kuna refused his father to give money, following which an exchange of words took place between the two.

It took a violent turn as Kuna thrashed his father with a lathi killing him on the spot. On being informed by locals, Chandrasekharpur police reached the spot, recovered the body for post-mortem and initiated investigation.

The accused was arrested by police while the weapon of offence has been seized. A murder case has been registered in this connection and further probe is underway.
