Assistant Civil Supplies Officer under Odisha Vigilance scanner

Nayagarh: Vigilance sleuths today raided  the office and residence of Assistant Civil Supplies Officer (ACSO) Jayant Kumar Dash of  Nayagarh district on charges of acquisition and possession of property disproportionate to his known sources of income.

On the strength of a search warrant issued by Bhubaneswar Special Judge Vigilance Court, separate teams of  the anti-corruption wing consisting of four DSPs, eight Inspectors, a SI and four ASIs conducted simultaneous raids at five places associated with him in the district.

They searched his office in Nayagarh town, a four storeyed building at Lenkudipada, two double storeyed buildings at Gandhisahi lane in Odagaon and a single storeyed building at his native village Biruda. During the search operation, cash of Rs 2.74 lakh, a four-wheeler and three two-wheelers were seized.

However, the exact amount of disproportionate assets that the Government official has possessed will be ascertained after completion of the search drive, said Vigilance sources.
