Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 35 deaths, the highest ever fatalities due to COVID-19 in a single day since the pandemic began last year.
"Regret to inform the demise of 35 numbers of Covid positive patients while under treatment in hospitals," informed the State Health & Family Welfare Department today.
Of new deaths, the highest number of single-day fatalities was reported from Khordha and Angul districts with 5 each followed by Sundargarh and Nabarangpur districts with 4 each and Kendrapara with 3 cases.
While 23 persons died due to COVID-19 without other health complications, the remaining 12 deceased persons including a 20-year-old youth had comorbidities.
