Athagarh sub-division in Odisha’s Cuttack declared as containment zone

Cuttack: In view of the increasing trend in COVID-19 cases in Athagarh sub-division of Odisha’s Cuttack district, Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani has declared the entire area as Containment Zone w.e.f. July 13.

As per an order of the Collector, the inflow of persons from other districts/states to the Athagarh sub-division (Athagarh, Tigiria, Badamba and Narasinghapur blocks) of Cuttack district has been restricted.

Any person coming from other districts/states will not be allowed to enter the Athagarh sub-division without prior permission of the concerned Tehsildars/IICs at the following NAKA points.

“Those carrying essential commodities and medicines may be allowed to enter the sub-division. The health condition of the persons coming from other districts/states to Athgarh will be screened by the Surveillance Team at the NAKA Point. The detailed history of the persons shall be recorded in separate register with their address and contact number,” an order of the Collector said.

“The Tehsildar and IIC shall jointly finalise at the spot on the entry of the outsiders coming to the Athgarh sub-division. They have to ensure maintenance of social distancing of 2 metres and using of face masks by all commuters in the vehicle. Hand sanitiser must be provided to the commuters at the time of signature in the register,” the order said.
