Attack near quarantine centre leaves four injured in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: As many as four persons sustained critical injuries after allegedly being attacked by a group of miscreants near a quarantine centre in Kanasa area of Odisha’s Puri district last night.

According to reports, stones were pelted at the quarantine centre around 11 PM when the husband of the local sarpanch was inside it. As the sarpanch’s husband informed the villagers about the incident, they reached the spot and searched for the stone pelters in the locality.

In the meantime, the miscreants, who were hiding in the dark, attacked the villagers with sharp weapons leaving four of them critically injured. The assailants fled the spot after the incident.

The victims have been admitted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment. Police have started an investigation into the incident and efforts were on to trace the attackers.
