Puri: The Ratna Bhandar probe committee fixed an auspicious time for opening the treasury of the Jagannath Temple in Puri today.
The Ratna Bhandar will open at 1.38 PM today. An 11-member team will enter the Ratna Bhandar at 1.28 PM with 'Agyan Mala' received from Lord Loknath. The team will enter the temple at 12.00 PM for the opening of the treasury, informed the panel chairman Justice Biswanath Rath after chairing a meeting here today.
The team will include Srimandir servitors (Deulakaran, Bhandar Mekap), SJTA chief administrator, Puri district collector and a snake helpline member.
On the suspense of missing keys of Ratna Bhandar, Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain revealed that the treasury key will be handed over to the team today.
Ahead of the opening of the treasury, the temple administration asked devotees to leave the temple. As many as 15 platoons of police forces have been deployed in Puri town for security reasons, of which 5 platoons have been deployed inside the temple.
Earlier, the committee headed by Justice Biswanath Rath had proposed the Srimandir Managing Committee and the state government for opening the Ratna Bhandar on July 14.
Accordingly, the Managing Committee had met to approve the SOPs sent by the Ratna Bhandar probe committee and recommended the government for opening of the treasury on the scheduled date.
