Award amounts to be credited to Odisha sportspersons’ accounts

Bhubaneswar, May 28:

The Odisha government has decided to credit the cash awards given to eminent sportspersons to their respective bank accounts.

“The cash award of Rs 2,59,47,500, given to 365 meritorious sportspersons during the 2014-15 fiscal, would be directly credited to their bank accounts,” said Saswat Mishra, secretary, Sports and Youth Services in a release today.

He said the state government, as per the financial incentive policy, has sanctioned Rs 22.30 lakh for 81 meritorious sportspersons by April this year.

The department has uploaded a detailed list of these sportspersons on its official website www.dsyodisha.gov.in , he added.
