Baby boy found abandoned in forest in Odisha

Morada: A baby boy was found abandoned in a bamboo forest in Morada area in Mayurbhanj district. Initially, Muluk Chand Mahanta and daughter-in-law Bhagyabati Mahanta spotted the baby boy being abandoned in the bamboo forest on Saturday evening. Muluk Chand took the baby to his house without telling anyone about the incident.

However, some villagers got a whiff about the incident and informed the local Anganwadi workers and ASHA worker who reached Muluk Chand’s house today.

After receiving information, local police officials also reached his house and admitted the baby to Kisantandi Community Health Centre. Later the baby was shifted to the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital.

Latest reports suggest condition of the baby is stable now.
