Baby dies in wall collapse in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: In a tragic incident, a 10-month-old baby died and four others of a family sustained critical injuries in a wall collapse following heavy rainfall in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The incident took place at Bajraguma village under Digapahandi block last night.

According to reports, the wall of a cottage collapsed while the family was sleeping at night.

While the infant died on the spot, the injured persons were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Notably, the incessant rain due to low pressure over Bay of Bengal had affected normal life in southern region of the state. The wall collapsed due to heavy rain in past two days.
