Bhubaneswar, Oct 23:

Upset over the inordinate delay in completing the investigation by the Commissionerate Police into the Bachan Sudha Pattnaik murder case even after it arrested prime accused Diptiranjan Patnaik, a security guard, on September 14 this year, family members of the deceased on Wednesday met twin city Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma and asked for early filing of the charge sheet in the case before the trial court here.

Family members also made a strong case for the death sentence to the accused.

Rochan Pattanayak, son of Bachan Sudha said, “We want early submission of charge sheet by the commissionerate police as it is an open and shut case and the police have enough evidence to convict the accused. We also prayed before the commissioner for capital punishment to the culprit so that it will be a lesson for other anti-socials, who would never dare even think of committing such a brutal crime in city as well as in the state.”

On the other hand, Dr Sharma informed that the commisionerate police will submit the charge sheet in the case before the trial court very soon and ask for harsh punishment to the offender.

Notably, a 53-year old Bachan Sudha, wife of Manu Charan Pattnaik, the owner of Madhukan Agro Automobiles Pvt Ltd, was killed by security guard Diptiranjan Patnaik at her Sabarsahi residence in Rasulgarh area under Mancheswar police limits here on September 11 this year.
