Baitarani mishap: Bodies of 3 boys recovered

The bodies of three boys, who went missing in river Baitarani here at Anandapur on Monday were fished out today. They have been identified as Sipun Nath, Papun Nath and Papun Pagal of Atta village near Anandapur.

The mishap occurred at Atta ghat in Anandpur at around 10 am on Monday while around 500 local boys and girls had gone in a procession to the river bank for immersion of the Khudurukuni idols. While the immersion ceremony was under way, eight boys were swept away in the river’s under current.

However, four of them were rescued by the fire brigade team and one body was found later on Monday.
