Bhubaneswar: Around two months after the Balasore train tragedy, bodies of as many as 29 persons who died in the accident are yet to be claimed.

The 29 bodies have been preserved in containers at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences here.

As of today, AIIMS Bhubaneswar has handed over 133 bodies to the relatives and family members of the deceased. The institute had received a total of 162 bodies in two phases.

As many as 81 bodies were handed over to family members in the first phase. However, due to multiple claimants and few other issues, DNA samples of bodies as well as claimants were sent to New Delhi for matching.

In the second phase, 52 bodies have been handed over to the kin of deceased.
