Band party vehicle skids off road in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj; 9 injured

Mayurbhanj: As many as nine people sustained injuries after a vehicle carrying band party for a wedding procession skids off the road here today.

The injured persons were admitted to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Udala for treatment. Out of them, two were further rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Baripada in critical condition.

All the victims were identified as the residents of Athapada in Udala Tehsil in Mayurbhanj district.

The incident took place at Sunapal chack under Udala police limits in the morning.

According to reports, the vehicle carrying a band party met the accident while returning to Athapada after a wedding procession in Udala. The vehicle skidded off the road after the rear wheel burst near Sunapal Chhak following which the driver lost control over it.

On receiving information, Udala police reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
