Bandh over Koshal state demand hits normal life in western Odisha

Balangir: A 12-hour bandh call in 11 districts of western Odisha over the demand for a separate Koshal state affected normal life in the region, today.

The bandh is being observed by Koshal Sena and Koshal Mukti Morcha.

Members of the outfits staged road blockade at various places, bringing vehicular movement to a grinding halt. The agitators also resorted to picketing at many places.

Shops and business establishments also remained closed in view of the bandh.

The effect of the bandh was mostly felt in Balangir, Kalahandi and Bargarh districts.

However, the effect of the bandh was minimal in Sambalpur as the bandh call was opposed in the district.
