Bandhugaon CDPO, SRA under Vigilance scanner for accepting bribe of Rs 40,000

Koraput: A team of Odisha Vigilance sleuths arrested the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) in Bandhugaon of Koraput district Namitarani Pal and Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) working in Office of the CDPO Aswini Kumar Pradhan while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 40,000, today.

Acting on a previous instruction of CDPO Pal, SRA Pradhan was accepting the bribe amount from the complainant when he was caught red-handed by the Vigilance team. The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from the possession of accused SRA Pradhan, a senior official expressed.

Based on the information of accused Pradhan, the CDPO Pal was later arrested by the Vigilance team.

As per a written complaint lodged with Vigilance, the bribe was demanded to issue an appointment letter and accept a joining report of the complaint’s daughter working as an Anganwadi worker.

Koraput Vigilance PS case (No-15, dated-16.05.2023, U/s-7 of the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered in this connection. An investigation is underway against both the two accused persons.
