Bhubaneswar: A deputy manager cum field officer of Bank of India was found hanging in his rented house at Polasara in Odisha’s Ganjam district yesterday.
Deceased Sudhanshu Shubhankar Dash (27) was found hanging from the ceiling fan with a towel, sources said.
Sudhanshu did not respond to the knocks on his door yesterday morning. Later, he was found hanging in his room, sources added.
Polasara police have registered a case as per an FIR lodged by Sudhanshu’s family. The police have seized his two mobile phones and a diary as part of their investigation into the case. A scientific team also visited the spot, sources said.
In his FIR, deceased’s father Gagan Dash alleged that Sudhanshu was under severe mental pressure due to workload in his bank. There was also an argument between Sudhanshu and the Branch Manager of the bank over some issues a few days ago, he claimed.
A customer of the bank had also threatened Sudhanshu over some issues recently, alleged the deceased’s father.
The complainant sought an impartial probe into the incident.
The police seized the body and sent it for postmortem.
Bank of India Polasara Branch Manager Malaya Ranjan Mallick, meanwhile, denied the allegation that Sudhanshu was under severe workload. He also expressed his ignorance about the allegation that a customer of the bank had threatened Sudhanshu.
