Barabati ODI: Fans make beeline, spend sleepless night for tickets

Cuttack: Craze among cricket fans for the ODI match scheduled to be played between India and West Indies at the Barabati Stadium here on December 22 reached its peak as they made a beeline near the ticket counters hours before the commencement of sale of tickets.

Braving the chill, hundreds of fans spent sleepless night near the stadium even as the counters were scheduled to open at 9 am. “I came from Dhenkanal and reached here at 11 pm last night. Many cricket fans like me have been waiting near the counters entire night to get tickets as early as possible,” a cricket fan said.

Notably, sale of offline tickets for general public at the counters will begin today. The tickets will be sold from 9 am to 5 pm at 12 counters. A total 10,050 tickets will be made available at the counters.

  7. Corporate Box :                                                 Rs 8,000
  8. A/C Box (Gallery 4) :                                       Rs 5,000

It is pertinent to mention here that the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) had earlier announced that 18 per cent GST will be charged on the tickets this time. Moreover, a person will be allowed to purchase only two tickets after showing a valid ID card.
