Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited BR Ambedkar Bus Terminal at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar will have a police outpost.

The decision was taken by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after a field inspection by the 5T Chairman VK Pandian at the under-construction inter-state bus terminal at Baramunda recently.

Pandian received a proposal to set up a police outpost for the safety and security of passengers during the review meeting on work progress of the ISBT. Following a discussion with the CM in this regard, Patnaik decided to establish a police outpost at the bus terminal.

As many as 89 police officials including 2 Sub-Inspectors and 9 ASIs will be appointed at the proposed police outpost, a CMO release stated today.

Besides, employees in the ranks of Havildar (4), Constable (72) and Driver (2) will be posted at the outpost.

Notably, the construction work of the ISBT has reached its final stage. The bus terminal will be operational very soon. Following the inauguration of the bus terminal, 700-800 buses are estimated to ply from here daily.
