“I have not received the notice. But I was all along aware of their plan to divorce me after the 2014 elections while I was at their house after my marriage. The torture on me had intensified following that decision, which forced me to lodge a complaint. They were unable to do it back then and are doing it now. I have been fighting for justice and will continue to fight,” said Barsa Swony Choudhury.

“If they have applied for divorce, this exposes their real face. They had been planning for this and have spoilt my life and now the truth has come to the fore. They have never cared about me; never wanted to know how I am doing, how I am making my living all this while after I filed the case. I have not yet been provided any maintenance. They have never cared for me and are delaying the process. I will consult my lawyer and take the next step,” she added.

Rajashree Mohanty is the son of former BJD leader and Odisha Minister Raghunath Mohanty.

Earlier, Barsa has alleged dowry torture by her husband and in-laws leading to a huge uproar in the state. Her father in law  Raghunath Mohanty had to resign after the furore.

Later Rajashree, his father Raghunath and his mother were arrested by the Odisha police crime branch and were out on bail subsequently.

Raghunath was not given BJD ticket in 2014 elections.
