Berhampur: A battery exploded leaving as many as three children critically injured at Sompur village under Hinjilicut police limits in Odisha's Ganjam district, today.

According to reports, the victims were playing with a battery this morning around 8 am after picking it up from an abandoned place in the locality. Unfortunately, the battery exploded injuring the trio.

Family members of the three rushed them to the Hinjilicut sub-divisional hospital. After primary treatment, they were shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here for better treatment.
