BDA cancels Anmol biscuit’s occupancy certificate. Here’s why

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) today cancelled the occupancy certificate of a leading biscuit firm ‘Anmol’ for failing to meet fire safety norms in the city here.

“BDA has cancelled the Occupancy Certificate issued to leading biscuit manufacturer Anmol Industries Ltd, for failing to comply with the #FireSafety norms mandated by the Director-General Fire Services, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Odisha,” said BDA on Twitter.

The development authorities in the city have started taking action against the industrial units, who are found violating the fire safety norms in the commercial buildings.

With the move, some other industries in Bhubaneswar are expected to face tough action from the BDA regarding fire safety.
