Beneficiaries provided poor quality rice in Odisha panchayat

In another instance of administration’s negligence in the tribal dominated district of Odisha, the beneficiaries were being distributed poor quality rice in a panchayat of Malkangiri district in the past few months.

According to reports, total 348-packet poor quality rice was supplied to Padar panchayat under Karakanda block of Malkangiri district for distribution to the beneficiaries.

Even as the concerned officer was aware of the information two months ago, no action was taken by the administration to replace the poor quality rice from the panchayat.

A three-member investigation officers’ team reached the panchayat and replaced the poor quality rice after the beneficiaries approached the Malkangiri supply officer recently.
