Bhadrak unrest: Odisha govt announces compensation for violence-hit people

Odisha government today announced special compensation package for people affected during violence in Bhadrak town.

The General Administration (GA) department approved the package to provide assistance for unrest-hit people.

As per the announcement, maximum amount of Rs 2 lakh and minimum Rs 15,000 will be provided to the violence-hit people in the town.

Bhadrak district collector has been asked to provide the compensation to 443 beneficiaries identified in first phase.

Meanwhile, the situation improved in the town following unrest erupted over derogatory remarks against hindu deities on social media.

The district administration has relaxed the curfew for 14 hours today from 6 am to 8 pm in the town.
