Bhadrak violence: Odisha cops arrest youth Congress leader

Bhadrak, May 1:

Odisha police today arrested a leader of youth wing of Congress for his alleged role in inciting communal violence in the district headquarters town.

Bhadrak Town Police arrested Asim Parida alias Muna today, a day after a BJP Yuva Morcha Bhadrak district unit general secretary Bikash Shrestha was arrested on similar grounds.

Notably, Parida also works with a private college here. Two guns were seized from him, reports said.

Worth mentioning, this is the third such arrest with people having political affiliations where a member each from three main political parties has been arrested so far. Earlier, a member of BJD and BJP was arrested for their involvement in aggravating the situation during the religious violence. And now, a member of the Congress has been arrested.

One the other hand, district administration continued with the 8-hour night curfew beginning 9 pm.
