Bharatanatyam guru dies on stage during dance festival in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: A Bharatanatyam guru from Malaysia reportedly died during a dance festival at Bhanja Kala Mandap in the capital city here today.

The deceased has been identified as Sri Ganeshan, sources said.

Sri Ganeshan performed on the concluding evening of the three-day dance festival today. He reportedly collapsed on the stage while lighting the ceremonial lamp in front of Lord Jagannath during the valedictory ceremony of the festival, sources said.

Sri Ganeshan was rushed to Capital Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, sources added.
