Bhubaneswar: 2nd COVID vaccine dose to all denizens by August-end

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has planned to administer first COVID-19 vaccine dose to all the denizens of the city by July 15 and second dose by August-end.

While 18,000-20,000 persons are being vaccinated at 55 vaccination centres in the city daily, the civic body aims to increase the figure to 28,000-30,000 at 60 centres.

BMC Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Singh said those working in hotel, tourism, IT, food delivery and media sectors in the city have been vaccinated. Medicine shopkeepers, cab drivers, vendors and newspaper hawkers will be administered COVID-19 vaccine soon, the official said.
