Bhubaneswar: As many as 823 more persons in the state capital were found positive for COVID-19 today.
As per the information shared by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of 1258 positive cases detected in Khordha district, 823 belong to Bhubaneswar. While only 150 were quarantine cases, remaining 673 local contact cases, which is 81.7 % of the total fresh cases.
Highest 36 local contact cases were from Old Town area, 31 from Chandrasekharpur, 21 from Bomikhal and 20 from Dumduma.

It is pertinent to mention here that Director of Health Services Bijaya Mahapatra recently cautioned that community transmission like situation has aroused in the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
"One single person can infect many others. As there are many returnees in the Twin City from outside the state, the number of cases is increasing in the two places. The number may increase or decrease in coming days," the official had said.
Meanwhile, 709 more COVID-19 patients recovered from the virus. Currently, the tally of the state capital stands at 47,140, including 8490 active cases and 38,361 recovered cases. So far, 268 persons have succumbed to the virus in the city.
