Bhubaneswar-based engineering college student killed, 5 others injured in car crash in Ganjam

Chatrapur: In a tragic incident, an engineering student of a Bhubaneswar-based college died and five others were seriously injured in a car crash in Ganjam district here this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Debraj, student of a private engineering college in Bhubaneswar. Five others who were injured in the incident were all from the same college.

According to reports, total six students of the private engineering college had gone on an excursion to the seaside of Gopalpur in Ganjam district on Sunday. On their way back to Bhubaneswar, the car in which they were travelling hit road divider and crashed into a truck near Agastinuagam Chhak under Ganjam police limits today morning.

While Debraj died on the spot, five others sustained critical injuries in the mishap. The injured students were rushed to the Chatrapur Dub-Divisional Hospital (SDH) for treatment.

On receiving information, Ganjam police initiated probe into the incident.
