Bhubaneswar: In a bid to ensure adherence to COVID-19 guidelines amid surge in infections, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today said a fine of Rs 500 will be imposed on the violators of the norms.
"Cases of Omicron variant of the virus are rising. People need to be more careful. Violation of COVID-19 guidelines will attract a penalty of Rs 500," the civic body said.
The BMC urged citizens to wear masks while going outside, maintain a minimum distance of two metres from others at public places, and stay away from crowd.
