Bhubaneswar: Congress workers hurl eggs, tomatoes at police while marching towards Naveen Niwas

Bhubaneswar: Tension ran high at Raj Mahal Square in Odisha capital as Congress workers allegedly hurled eggs and tomatoes at police while they were heading towards Naveen Niwas, the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The incident took place when the cops stopped the Congress workers from heading towards Naveen Niwas. A scuffle ensued between the party workers and police, which later took a violent turn as the workers hurled eggs and tomatoes at the cops.

The rally was being led by Youth Congress national president BV Srinivas. It was organized to target the BJD government over unemployment and ‘poor’ law-and-order situation in the state.

“The march was taken out to wake up the CM, who has been unable to provide jobs to the youths in the state. Many youths are migrating to other states in search of employment. The agitation will continue till we dethrone the government,” a Congress worker said.
