Bhubaneswar: Explosion at house in Jharpada leaves residents panic-stricken

Bhubaneswar: Explosion at a house due to unknown reason in Jharpada area of Odisha capital trigged panic among the locals, last night.

The impact of the mysterious blast led to the collapse of a section of the house, resulting in injuries to several persons. According to reports, the house, functioning as a commercial unit, stored various products, including deodorants.

“I suspect someone may have hurled bomb. The room contained properties worth around Rs 31 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh cash. The deodorant stock was minimal when the blast occurred,” said Kabiraj Swain, owner of the house.

Body and homecare products in large quantity were damaged in the incident.

Police have started investigation to ascertain the cause of the explosion. A forensic team has also been roped in for the probe.
