Bhubaneswar: The toll in the explosion at the Hi-Tech Medical College & Hospital in Odisha capital mounted to two as another person succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the private healthcare facility, last night.

The deceased was identified as Sritam Sahu (23) of Chainpur village in Delang area of Puri district. He was an employee of the organization for two years and sole bread earner of his family.

Days ago, Dilip Samantray of Khordha had died during treatment as he was hospitalized after sustaining injuries in the blast.

Unable to bear the death of Dilip, his wife Suna Samantray reportedly took the extreme step of ending her life by hanging herself. She was found hanging at her father’s house.

Other two victims were undergoing treatment while their condition was stated to be critical.

Notably, all of them had sustained critical injuries in an explosion at the hospital during AC gas filling on December 29, 2023.
