Bhubaneswar minor girl gang-rape: Orissa HC asks DGP to appear before it

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court today directed the Director General of Police (DGP), Odisha Abhay to appear before it personally during its next hearing on the Bhubaneswar minor girl gang-rape case.

Expressing displeasure over the progress of the probe into the minor girl gang-rape case, the court asked the DGP to depose personally and submit an affidavit on the progress of the investigation.

The HC fixed next date of hearing on November 18.

It is worth to be mentioned that the Crime Branch has taken charge of the probe from the Commissionerate Police last month.

The minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by several employees of a private regional news channel, OTV for around 15 days during the month of April-May. The Odisha State Commission for Women has also been inquiring the matter.
