Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today dedicated to public the Bhubaneswar New Railway Station, situated around 14 km away from the Bhubaneswar main station.
The newly-inaugurated station will widely cater to the needs of passengers of the capital city and its outskirt areas like Patia, Barang, Nandankanan and Raghunathpur. Official sources said the cost of the project was Rs 50 crore.
It has been decided to provide stoppage of three passenger trains viz. Howrah-Puri-Santragachi, Rourkela-Puri-Rourkela and Cuttack-Brahmapur-Cuttack MEMU at Bhubaneswar New Station w.e.f. 7th July, 2018 on an experimental basis for a period of six months.
Train Timings:
58001 Howrah-Puri Passenger will arrive at Bhubaneswar New Station at 1056 hrs and will leave at 1057 hrs towards Puri. In the return direction, 58002 Puri-Santragachi Passenger will arrive at Bhubaneswar New Station at 1141 hrs and will leave at 1142 hrs towards Santragachi.
58131 Rourkela-Puri Passenger will arrive at Bhubaneswar New Station at 2032 hrs and will leave at 2033 hrs towards Puri. In the return direction, 58132 Puri-Rourkela Passenger will arrive at Bhubaneswar New Station at 0643 hrs and will leave at 0644 hrs towards Rourkela.
68433 Cuttack-Brahmapur MEMU will arrive at Bhubaneswar New Station at 1753 hrs and will leave at 1754 hrs towards Brahmapur. In the return direction, 68434 Brahmapur-Cuttack MEMU will arrive at Bhubaneswar New Station at 1035 hrs and will leave at 1036 hrs towards Cuttack.
The timings and stoppages for these passenger trains at other nominated places will remain unchanged.
Apart from the station, third foot over bridge at the Bhubaneswar railway station, MEMU Shed at the Khurda Road railway station, and new ticket counter at Bagala Dharmashala, Puri were also inaugurated by Pradhan through video-conferencing.
A mobile app for the Ratha Jatra in Puri by the East Coast Railway was also launched by the Union Minister.
