Bhubaneswar: New rules for Unit-I vegetable market amid COVID surge

Bhubaneswar: With Odisha capital reporting around/over 1000 daily COVID-19 cases in the second wave of the pandemic, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued news rules for the crowded Unit-I vegetable market here to facilitate social distancing.

As per the rules, wholesalers will be allowed for trading between 3.30 am and 6.30 am while the same for retailers is between 6.30 am and 12 noon. The rule will be in effect till further orders by the BMC.

This apart, two-wheelers will not be allowed inside the vegetable market during the period. Strict action will be taken against the violators, the BMC said.
