Bhubaneswar: Police rescue dancers from bar flouting coronavirus regulation

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police last night raided a bar at Bapuji Nagar here and rescued as many as 10 women dancers as the bar flouted coronavirus regulation of the Odisha Government. Dance at bars in the capital city were earlier prohibited temporarily in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.

A police team led by ACP Manas Garnaik conducted raid at Rangeela Bar where dance by the women was underway. After being rescued, the women were sent to a short stay home. They will be handed over to their family members today, police sources said.

Action will be taken against the owner of the bar for violating the norm, sources added.
