Bhubaneswar records All-time high of 541 COVID-19 cases, breaches 11k-mark

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally breached 11,000-mark in Bhubaneswar with registering all-time high of 541 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

As per details of new cases shared by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), the local contacts surpassed the quarantine cases once again in Bhubaneswar.

Of the new positive cases, 220 have been reported from different quarantine centres and the remaining 321 are local contacts.

As per the information, 23 persons linked with previous cases from a private hospital have tested positive for COVID-19 in Bhubaneswar. Another 16 police personnel have been infected with the virus in the city.

Moreover, 11 employees of a bank have been diagnosed with the disease and 22 more locals have been found positive for the virus in Patia and a slum area in Bhimpur. 10 more cases have been reported from Sailashree Vihar under Chandrasekharpur police limits in the State capital.

With the fresh case, the total number of COVID-19 cases increased to 11,273 with 4282 active cases.

Meanwhile, 300 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease in Bhubaneswar taking the total count of recovered cases to 6935.

Besides, two more persons infected with the virus have died in the city in the last 24 hours. So far, the death toll rose to 44 in Bhubaneswar.
