Bhubaneswar records huge single-day SPIKE of 386 COVID cases; here’re details

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar reported a huge single-day spike of 386 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the total mount to 8647.

The local contact cases once again surpassed the quarantine cases in the second consecutive day.

Of new cases, while 183 cases are quarantine cases, 203 are local contacts, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today.

As per details shared by the BMC, the highest number of 38 quarantine cases including 12 females have been reported from Ganganagar SUH (Shelter for Urban Homeless) in the last 24 hours.

Similarly, 15 employees of a government office located at Indradhanu Market in Nayapalli area have tested positive for COVID-19.

Moreover, 12 employees of a private hospital linked with earlier positive cases have been found positive for the virus in the city.

In local contact cases, 10 more police personnel of 7th Battalion are the new infectees in Bhubaneswar.

Here’re details of fresh 386 cases reported in the last 24 hours in Bhubaneswar:

Besides, 213 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours in the city. With this, the number of recoveries increased to 5124 in Bhubaneswar.

The death toll due to COVID-19 has climbed to 36 in Bhubaneswar with a fresh fatality reported in the last 24 hours.
