Bhubaneswar reports 101 new COVID-19 cases; tally crosses 3500-mark

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally breached 3500-mark in Bhubaneswar with 101 new positive cases reported in the last 24 hours.

Out of fresh cases, 52 have been detected from quarantine centres and 49 are local contacts, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today.

The figure shows that there is a thin line between quarantine and local cases in the State capital.

With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases increased to 3573, of which 1296 are active.

Meanwhile, 106 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease in the city. Following recoveries, the tally reached 2257 so far.

The deadly virus has claimed 18 lives in Bhubaneswar so far.

For the first time, Khordha district has surpassed Ganjam districts in single-day COVID-19 tally. The district reported 298 new COVID-19 positive cases as against Ganjam with 279 cases in the last 24 hours.
