Bhubaneswar reports 111 new COVID-19 cases; Here’re details

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar reported 111 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said today.

Of fresh cases, 62 cases have been detected from quarantine centres and 49 are local contacts.

After a flour mill and slums in Bhubaneswar, Alugadi in Aiginia on outskirts of the city created panic among residents as 9 cases linked with an earlier positive case have been detected from the area.

Similarly, 5 persons with travel history to a COVID hotspot district currently lodged at a quarantine centre in Nua Sahi of Dumduma area have been tested positive for the virus. Four cases linked with an earlier positive case have been reported from Niladri Vihar (sector-2).

With fresh 111 cases, the COVID-19 tally in Bhubaneswar increased to 1828 with 952 active cases and 863 recoveries. The virus has claimed 11 lives in the city so far.
