Bhubaneswar reports over 1,300 Covid positive cases in 24 hours

Bhubaneswar: As the coronavirus pandemic continues to remain a concern, the Bhubaneswar city today reported another 1,300-plus Covid positive cases.

According to the data provided by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), a total of 1,353 Covid positive cases were detected in last 24 hours till 9 AM on May 16.
Of the total positive cases, 1,135 were local contact cases whereas 218 were quarantine cases in the city. So far, a total of 61,634 Covid positive cases have been detected in the city.

The data further stated as many as 938 Covid patients recuperated from the disease in last 24 hours. The recovered cases in the city stood at 49,224 till date.

A total of 293 persons in the city died due to Covid-19. As per the latest data available, the number of active cases was at 12,906 in the city.
