Bhubaneswar: A traffic constable died as an unknown vehicle hit him near Jayadev Vihar flyover in Odisha capital, last night.

The deceased was identified as Madhusudan Kirsari.

As per reports, the accident took place at around 10 PM when Madhusudan was heading towards his residence in Khandagiri on a motorcycle after completing his duty at Ram Mandir Square.

Near the Jaydev Vihar flyover, a heavy vehicle hit the motorcycle from rear and fled the scene.

Severely injured, Madhusudan was rushed to Capital Hospital by Nayapalli police. However, he was declared dead at the hospital.

The Commissionerate Police have started an investigation based on CCTV footage from the National Highway.
