Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a married woman was allegedly gang-raped on two separate days near the Laxmi Sagar Police Station in Odisha capital.
As per the victim, she was returning from her father’s place in Salia Sahi to her in-laws’ house in Haladipadia on February 26 evening, when one Gunda Lenka of Laxmi Sagar and his three associates allegedly raped her at a place on a road connecting Canal Road near the police station.
Next day, one Manas Moharana and his two aides raped the woman at the same spot in the morning, she alleged.
The victim went to the police station to file an FIR while the cops refused to receive the complaint, she said. The woman later met the Twin City Police Commissioner in this regard, following which the official directed the Laxmi Sagar Police to register a case on March 16.
The statement of the woman has been recorded while further investigation by police was underway.
