Bhubaneswar: Zomato delivery boys attacked with knife over ‘delay’ in service

Bhubaneswar: A group of youths allegedly attacked two food delivery boys of Zomato in Baramunda area under Khandagiri police limits of Odisha capital last night over alleged delay in service.

According to reports, victims Deepak Patra and Manoranjan Mohanty had gone to Soubhagya Nagar in the city after receiving a food delivery order from a person. However, there was no response when they reached the address and telephoned the orderer.

Subsequently, they went to Baramunda and waited for further instructions. In the meantime, three youths reached the spot and had an argument with the duo alleging delay in their service. The youths then attacked the delivery boys with knives. Both have sustained injuries in the attack.

Police have started investigation into the matter while efforts were on to nab the accused.
