The Tourism department of Odisha government has roped in Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan to lend his baritone to a special documentary film made for Nabakalebara. Tourism minister Ashok Chandra Panda had requested the Shehenshah of Bollywood to be the narrator in the documentary on Nabakalebara, titled God’s Own People. Big B has honoured the request of the minister and answered in the affirmative. However, Bachchan is yet to zero in on a date, following which the Tourism department of the state will begin proceedings. The recording of the narration will be done in Mumbai, informed the minister.

It is noteworthy, that recently God’s Own People, directed by Padma Shri Nilamadhab Panda was screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France. The Tourism department plans to showcase this documentary film chronicling one of the major events of the Odia culture in many other film festivals across the world.
