Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered its highest spike in COVID-19 cases in a day with 34 more positive cases being reported in the State today so far.

Official sources said ten new positive cases were reported from Ganjam district and Bhubaneswar today evening.

The three more positive cases in Bhubaneswar are a 36-year-old male from Mancheswar, 34-year-old male from VSS Nagar and 67-year-old from Suryanagar area.

The sources added seven persons from Ganjam district have tested positive for the deadly virus. The fresh cases are having symptoms and are Surat returnees.

Contact tracing and follow-up action are being done.

Earlier in the day, a total of 24 positive cases were reported in the State.

Till yet, the number of positive cases in the State is 219. Active cases stood at 155. While 62 recovered from the infection, two died of the disease.
